Foxcote Manor Returns Gala 12th & 13th October 2019

Wow. What a weekend.

7822 is back at Llangollen Railway, doing what she's done since the 1950's. She has performed really well over the weekend, there are a couple of tiny niggles to iron out over the next week or so, but we aren't anticipating anything overly sinister.

I was fortunate enough to fire her on Saturday evening, a moonlit evening in the Dee Valley, with merriment going on in the coaches behind. There was a wonderful atmosphere all weekend, with so many people overjoyed to see Foxy back on her old stomping ground after a break of 2.5 years. We hope that you all enjoyed seeing her again, come see her at every opportunity. She never disappoints.

7822 Returns to North Wales.

Foxcote Manor is now on the verge of returning to North Wales for the first time in two and a half years.

7822 performed well at the West Somerset Railways Autumn Steam Gala, and our thanks to the team at the WSR for their outstanding care for 7822 in the last two years.

The 12/13th of October are being dubbed "Foxcote Returns" and there will be an intensive timetable at the Llangollen Railway. This timetable will feature 7822, including an evening train, as well as 5199, 6430 and the visiting Class 25  diesel. It should be a good weekend.

7822's Overhaul Comes to a Close.

Foxy's program of repairs is now nearing completion at Tyseley Locomotive Works in Birmingham. This job has been absolutely enormous and the FMS wishes to thank everyone who has worked to get Foxy through the works. Our own engineer, Martin Fuller has been an absolute trojan in leading the works and we are incredibly grateful for his efforts. Added to that we would like to thank Mike Solloway, the team at Tyseley and all of the volunteers who have done so much.

Once the work has been completed, the loco will head back to the West Somerset Railway for testing and running in. She will then join the WSR for their busy summer season.
